Eurovision Song Contest 2012 to be held at The Baku Crystal Hall
Since August 2011, NUSSLI has been working with general contractor Alpine Bau Deutschland GmbH on the construction of a new, contemporary sports and concert complex in Azerbaijan's capital Baku, which is to be completed in the record time of just 8 months.
The European Broadcast Union (EBU) decided this week to hold this year's Eurovision Song Contest in May at 'The Baku Crystal Hall', the capital's new multi-functional arena. By then, the steel structure will yet have to be clad with an illuminated membrane fassade, which will lend the building its characteristic crystalline appearance.
Alpine Bau Deutschland GmbH is the general contractor for the project, and is supported by NUSSLI and the design lead architect of gmp von Gerkan, Marg & Partners. General planner and planning coordinator is NUSSLI International AG.
