Ruhr Triennial 2012
The Ruhr Triennial begins on August 17 in North-Rhine Westphalia (Germany). It is the most important international art festival in the Ruhr region. The event locations of the Ruhr Triennial are industrial monuments in the region, which were transformed as part of the IBA (International Construction Exhibition) Emscher Park between 1989 and 1999 into staging areas for music, theater, literature and dance.
Just like in previous years, NUSSLI received instructions to equip the event locations in Bochum, Duisburg, Gladbeck, and Essen with grandstands and various platforms and stair systems.
The 8-man installer crew constructed a premium quality grandstand with 625 seats in just one day. It will provide space for the audience at the 'Jahrhunderthalle', where the play 'When the Mountain Changed its Clothing' will be staged. The Jahrhunderthalle is home to two historical turbines, which had to be protected with particular care during the installation and later removal work.
The Control Center Duisburg will be hosting the play 'Prometheus'. There, NUSSLI created a grandstand with 950 audience seats and a stair tower in just one and a half days. Four trucks delivered the 58 tons of material for the grandstand.
The event locations Essen and Gladbeck will be equipped with grandstands and platforms within the next few weeks.
