The Spanish Pavilion at Floriade 2012 Captures Two Emporia Awards
The Asociación Española de Proveedores Feriales y Eventos (AIMFE), a trade organization that represents the principle Spanish firms specializing in the design and installation of grandstands and exhibition services, and Veredictas Internacional, a benchmark company devoted to the creation and development of standards of excellence, celebrated the first edition of annual Emporia Awards on October 17.
These national awards recognize the quality, creativity, and innovation of ephemeral architecture produced by Spanish companies. The awards take into account aspects of both construction and communication such as the relationship between a structure and the installation site, how well the decor represents a client's brand values, the ingenuity of technical solutions, creativity, and environmental stewardship. Among the sixteen categories featured in the 2012 Emporia Awards, the Spanish pavilion at Floriade 2012, created by NUSSLI, captured the award for the best exhibition stand design and was cited as one of the ten best projects in the ecological stand design category (reusable, recyclable, sustainable, etc.). AIMFE was pleased with the sector's enthusiastic response to the first edition of this award program, both in terms of the number of entries submitted and the high profile of the companies that participated.
