Baroque on the Main Festival 2010-2011
After only seven years, the Baroque on the Main Festival has advanced to become an institution in the Hessian cultural landscape and represents intellectually stimulating theater in Hessian dialect, whose stylistic repertoire spans everything from tragic emotion on to comedic gesture; from the sharp punchline on to grotesque slapstick. The 2011 program included the Molière’s play „ George Dandin. The abashed Husband“ and „Carnival of the Animals“ with music by the French composer Camille Saint-Saëns.
In the Bolongaro Garden in Frankfurt-Hoechst, with its baroque palace facade, once again NUSSLI constructed a grandstand facility with 500 seats and an integrated FOH for this enchanting festival. To enable the event to take place in all weather conditions, the entire grandstand was roofed. The necessary material had to be delivered and unloaded on a highly trafficked street where the public bus service rode. Precision was required for the subsequent transport of the material to the construction site – with wheel bearings through two very narrow archways. A total of around 17 tons of material were installed. Eight assemblers and four assistants constructed the grandstand facility in only 1.5 days.
NUSSLI was commissioned by Barock am Main Ensemble GmbH with the construction of the grandstand facility.
