Botticelli at the Städel Museum Frankfurt 2009 / 2010
For the first time ever, an exhibition of the grand master of the Italian Renaissance takes place in a German-speaking country. More than 80 works from Sandro Botticelli and his atelier, along with his contemporaries, could be viewed from November 13, 2009 to February 28, 2010 at the Städel Museum.
As one of the most successful painters of the 15th century, Sandro Botticelli made a name for himself far beyond his hometown Florence with his images of the "female ideal" and the graceful Madonna figures. Even 500 years after the death of the exceptionally gifted painter, his pictures have not lost any of their unique expression as they charm the numerous exhibition visitors at Frankfurt's Städel Museum.
For the presentation of the works on the 1,400 m² exhibition area, NUSSLI carpenters supplied and installed the elements of the complete exhibition architecture in the form of a complex wooden panel construction. This included integrated seating benches and glass showcases in the geometrically sophisticated architecture. The on-site installations, including the preliminary preparation for this much-visited exhibition, were concluded in just one week.
