"Fare gli Italiani", Turin 2011

Italy is celebrating 150 years as a republic in 2011 with a series of festivities and exhibitions around the country. In Torino, the museum ‘Officine Grandi Riparazioni’, a former industrial facility built in 1895, was the backdrop to the exhibition ‘Fare gli Italiani – 150 anni di storia nazionale’.

In 13 separate areas, the exhibition presented visitors with the development and the effects of various topics on the country. These included major influences, like industry, church, Word War, politics, Mafia, and mass media. Each of these so-called ‘topic islands’ was staged with the help of a variety of media. In one, for example, an interactive video was shown, while another featured talking statues of historical figures.

NUSSLI was in charge of the planning and implementation of the entire audio and video technology of each of the multimedia presentations and image projections from start to finish. The differences in elevation between the exhibition areas posed some difficulties in terms of the implementation of the projections and the interactive features of the various topic islands.
