Paris’ Bid for the 2012 Olympic Games
Already in the application phase, the candidature committee engaged NUSSLI as a specialist for all the temporary structures of the “Northern Cluster”.
An architectonic concept for the various sports venues was worked out along the 700 meters long central park. Behind a continuous spatial layer of infrastructure constructions (entrances into the stadia, hospitality, merchandising, offices etc.) are the halls for basketball (5,000 seats), weightlifting (2,000 seats), boxing (2,000 seats) and fencing (1,500 seats) arranged.
All the elements were budgeted, timetables were produced, and even the dismantling and the partial re-utilisation of construction materials were planned.
