Temporary stadia for FC Lucerne, Emmen
With a victory in the return match against the FC Lugano on June 13, 2009 an era dawned for the FC Lucerne and his fans. The time-honored stadium Allmend of the FC Lucerne was venue for one last match after 75 years: It disappeared to the new stadia project „swisspoarena“.
Opposite of the existing grandstand of the Stadia Gersag in Emmen, NUSSLI build a roofed grandstand with a steel pipe construction. To meet the requirements of the Axpo Super League, the stadium had to be expanded by 3,528 roofed seats and standing room for another 1,000 fans.
The special challenges of the extension of the Stadium Gersag were the limited available space and the positioning of the grandstand on the hillside situation. In exhausting handcraft for every outrigger 0.25 square meters of the ground had to be removed of the hill. NUSSLI for the first time used screw anchoring to build the steel pipe construction onto the area which partly was up to 30º. With a special-purpose vehicle the 3.5 meters screw anchoring got tightened. The 96 meters long roof has, underneath every of its eight bearing, three of such screw storm resistant screw anchoring, which are responsible for a tensile load of each 42 tons. For that, three screw basements got bound to a HEA-metal carrier. This carrier serves as support for the twelve meter high main bearing of the roof.
If the constructions of the swisspoarena delay against expectations and the completion is not possible until February 2011, the temporary construction in Emmen can be used longer without any difficulty.
