Volkswagen group evening 2010, Paris
Volkswagen Group traditionally host their annual Group event on the eve of the opening of the Paris Car Show 'Mondiale de l’automobil'. That is why around 1500 national and international industry journalists and big names from politcs, business and entertainment arrived at the extravagantly decorated Freyssinet Hall in late September 2010 to learn all about the latest developments in the automotive world of Volkswagen.
For this large scale event, NUSSLI erected a grandstand, a 70 meters wide stage, the support structure for lighting, sound, and LED technology, as well as the substructure for the mobile floor in the double-storey hall. NUSSLI also constructed a drive-on ramp for the biggest stars of the night - the latest Volkswagen models. Each of the ramps was extended for each grand entrance through an open gate in precisely the timing set out for the show, so that each vehicle could roll out onto the stage on cue. The amount of material needed for all the structures was impressive: 9000 square meters of wood-based sheet material, 1300 square meters of Layher substructure, 160 m of glass balustrades, 1 km of coated grandstand cowling, 2500 square meters of carpeting, and 400 tons of steel.
